Biography
Nikolai Mashukov was born in a Siberian village Bik on the banks of the river Angara. From 1973 to 1977 he studied spatial planning in the Krasnoyarsk Art College named after V.I. Surikov (Russia) and then specialized in monumental painting of the interior. From 1983 to 1988, he studied sculpture and ceramics at the Krasnoyarsk State Institute of Arts. He moved to Moscow in 1989 and the next year became a member of the Association of Russian Artists. He moved to Slovenia in 1994, where he lives and works as a freelance artist.
He has had more than 50 solo exhibitions and took part in numerous group exhibitions, art symposiums and international art workshops.

Recent activities
Currently he is working on a cycle titled Four Shadows of a Ship. So far he has completed three exhibitions: Journey of Amateurs, Fellow Travellers, Passio, and is now working on Equilibrium. Each exhibition was accompanied with a catalogue prepared by the author.
